DigitalThink, Inc. (NASDAQ: DTHK), the leading provider of e-learning business solutions to Global 2000 companies, announced today that KPMG
Consulting, Inc. (NASDAQ: KCIN) will expand its long-standing relationship with DigitalThink by adopting its recently enhanced DigitalThink E-Learning Platform. As part of the agreement, KPMG Consulting will also provide DigitalThink's full catalog of e-business, IT and soft skills courseware to its 10,000-plus employees worldwide, and together with DigitalThink will develop custom courseware for KPMG Consulting's workforce.
"The growing strength and flexibility of DigitalThink's learning management system was a major part of the decision to standardize our company-wide learning programs on DigitalThink's E-Learning Platform," said John Higgins, chief learning officer at KPMG Consulting.
DigitalThink recently announced major improvements to its E-Learning Platform, which include DigitalThink Learning Management and DigitalThink
Reporting & Analysis. "In order to track the impact of our learning initiatives it was critical for us to choose a company that could provide us
with a platform that has the tracking and reporting capability we need to assess the impact of our learning strategies on our key business
imperatives," added Higgins. "DigitalThink has been a strong supplier in the area of custom course development for us and leveraging their learning management system is the next logical extension of our relationship." An important new component of KPMG Consulting's company-wide learning strategy is the introduction of learning paths for each individual employee, which are determined through a process of up-front evaluation of the professional development needs of each individual in the company. Using DigitalThink Learning Management, employees will be assessed and an individualized learning path developed to help every person realize their own professional potential through learning.
Regular review and complete analysis of all learning initiatives will be possible using another key new component of the E-Learning Platform,
DigitalThink Reporting & Analysis. As a result, KPMG Consulting will be able to track the contributions of its learning initiatives to its overall
bottom-line business objectives while also monitoring the individual development progress of each employee. Key stakeholders will now have the
ability to easily generate data and reports, demonstrating the effectiveness of learning initiatives in increasing productivity, retention, market share and revenue.
"Our ability to deliver to our customers both custom and catalog e-learning solutions powered by the DigitalThink E-Learning Platform -
solutions that meet specific business needs - is a key differentiator and is why leaders like KPMG Consulting are choosing DigitalThink," said Jon
Madonna, president and chief executive officer of DigitalThink. "We believe that our E-Learning Platform is flexible and powerful enough to meet the unique needs of KPMG Consulting and their employees around the world, and we anticipate KPMG Consulting will play a vital part in making ongoing improvements to our offering."
KPMG Consulting is among the first companies to adopt the newly enhanced DigitalThink E-Learning Platform to meet enterprise learning management needs and as such is well positioned to play an important role in its ongoing development and improvement. Because the E-Learning Platform is 100 percent Web-based, KPMG Consulting will avoid the long and costly installation processes associated with installed learning management systems applications. And because DigitalThink Learning Management is fully integrated with the other powerful components of the E-Learning Platform - DigitalThink Learning Environment, DigitalThink Reporting & Analysis and DigitalThink Enterprise Gateway - there is no need to piece together multiple components to achieve a total e-learning solution. KPMG Consulting is also a DigitalThink Global Strategic Alliance Partner, working together to bring Web-based and blended e-learning solutions to the world's largest and most complex enterprises. KPMG Consulting and DigitalThink have worked together on key customer engagements including GE Capital, Xircom, and Ingersoll-Rand. The expansion of the relationship now means that DigitalThink is the primary provider of e-learning solutions meeting KPMG Consulting's internal training needs.
