QA, a provider of specialist IT training and consulting, announces today the opening of its Stockport training centre.
The training centre opens in response to demand from companies in the
region for a broader range of training courses and greater flexibility in
learning. For the first time, a marketing-leading training provider will
offer both IT and professional skills training to leading businesses based
in the North West.
The centre is located at Kingfisher Court (Junction 1 of M60), making QA
easily accessible for delegates in the North of England. Liverpool,
Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham are all within a two hour drive
of the centre and there is a wide range of hotels and other facilities
available locally for delegates. The venue boasts six state-of-the-art
classrooms, a specialist management training suite and a dedicated Compaq
hardware site.
QA trains the vast majority of FTSE 100 firms, and is growing increasingly
active in the North West, particularly as leading tech firms are starting
to locate in this region. For example, Manchester has a thriving new media
and internet business scene and according to government figures, 10% of UK
companies in computer software and services are based in North West
England*. Indeed many of the world's leading computer and software
companies have a substantial base in or around Manchester including HP, Sun
Microsystems, IBM, EDS, Computer Software Services, Cap Gemini Ernst &
Young, SchlumbergerSema, Oracle, Hyperion Solutions, Rockliff Computers and
Informix Software.
"No other IT training provider can offer the depth and breadth of training
courses that QA can," said Jon Shepstone, Head of Operations at QA.
"Moving to the new training centre in Stockport allows QA to provide
businesses in the North West with a wider schedule and broader number of
courses from the UK's leading independent provider of IT training."
"This move positions Stockport as a centre of excellence for specialist IT
and business skills training," added Jon. "As companies seek to 'do more
with less' in the current environment, training is one area that can have
both an immediate and long-term impact on a company's performance.
Investing in staff skills will give businesses in the North West the same
competitive advantage that companies elsewhere have enjoyed."
