InfoBasis, announced their collaboration with Salary.com™ - a provider of competency content, job-competency models and performance management software to deliver complex, multi-disciplinary competency management on both sides of the Atlantic.
Salary.com offers the combined customer base access to one of the largest libraries of off-the-shelf, job-specific competency models that can be rapidly deployed to implement competency-driven human capital management. InfoBasis offers a range of competency management software solutions designed to help the combined customer base address the entire spectrum of the employee lifecycle from strategic workforce asset planning and resource deployment to learning management and delivery.
Since announcing their formal partnership in May 2005, InfoBasis and ITG Competency Group (now part of Salary.com) have worked together on strategic global projects. "For example, an international retail organisation, headquartered in the US, is using the ITG IT Job Competency Model to drive talent engagement and development for over 250 different job types, across multiple global locations, for a total of over 1,500 employees within their Information Technology group," said Doug Crisman, vice president of ITG Competency Models and Services at Salary.com.
"Many of our joint clients are large organisations with several different HR systems, yet no centralised way of effectively producing meaningful information to manage the job specific skills or competencies to acquire, develop, manage and deploy employees across an organisation," says Crisman. "They realise the benefits of having the critical information available to manage employee talent, but typically cannot handle the volume of this competency content through manual means for hundreds, let alone hundreds of thousands of employees."
Clients can leverage the InfoBasis/ITG partnership to enable effective deployment of Salary.com's extensive off-the-shelf and job-specific competency models, which include banded job profiles, competency descriptions, recommended proficiency levels, behaviour-based proficiency descriptions and learning references.
"That's where InfoBasis proves invaluable," says Crisman. "InfoBasis ESI software is sophisticated enough to deploy Salary.com's ITG job-competency models with the speed and flexibility that clients need to realize the full benefits of our competency content."
InfoBasis CEO Ashley Wheaton commented: "Understanding and fine-tuning organisational capability is increasingly a concern for organisations of all sizes. The success of this alliance has shown that a comprehensive competency-based approach including software and data is the most effective approach to achieving it. We look forward to continued collaboration with Salary.com and its ITG products internationally."
