OnPoint Digital, Inc. is pleased to announce the signing of a Technology License Agreement with Ottawa, Ontario-based Impatica, Inc. The Agreement grants OnPoint an exclusive license to use Impatica's proprietary technology to help convert standard Microsoft PowerPoint® presentations into mobile-ready content for immediate playback on leading smartphones. The Impatica-designed technology set acquired under this Agreement has already been integrated into OnPoint's new CellCast Mobile Widget™ offering which supports content delivery and tracking to leading smartphones from Research In Motion, Sony/Ericson, Palm/Treo, Motorola, and others. OnPoint and Impatica also plan to release support for select Nokia smartphones and Apple iPhones® and the iPod Touch® in the coming months.
OnPoint's CellCast Solution™, honored as the First Place Winner in the Mobile Widget Contest category at the CTIA Wireless® show in Las Vegas in April 2008, provides enterprise accounts with the ability to prepare, package and track content deployed to a mobile worker's smartphone through a variety of delivery modalities including voice, SMS messages, HTML/PDF files, audio/video clips and animated slideshows. Current customers are already supporting mobile initiatives across a variety of disciplines including mobile learning, sales training, field data collection, tradeshow/event communications, and mobile marketing campaigns.
Using OnPoint's hosted CellCast Solution, enterprise accounts have the ability to upload standard PowerPoint presentations to a branded web portal. These presentations are automatically converted and distributed to mobile workers and learners via the CellCast Mobile Widget installed on each user's smartphone. All transitions and animations included in the original PowerPoint slides are retained in the final mobile-ready deliverables for an engaging playback experience. From a branded web portal, users and managers can review assignments, search the Master Content Library, and synchronize selections to supported mobile phones. These engaging slideshow presentations fully complement the wide variety of other delivery formats including one-way and two-way messaging, text/HTML files, audio and IVR-enabled podcasts using standard voice calls, and mobile-ready audio and video files already managed via an installed CellCast Mobile Widget.
"We are delighted to work with OnPoint to bring this innovative and powerful solution to the enterprise marketplace," remarked Michael Doyle, Chairman and CEO of Impatica Inc. "Our award winning Impatica technologies continue to enjoy overwhelming popularity with both our customers and our strategic partners around the globe. By integrating our PowerPoint conversion technology and proprietary content players into OnPoint's CellCast Solution architecture, OnPoint can quickly expand the scope and sophistication of their mobile solutions."
"The conversion and delivery features gained by this partnership add new and powerful functionality for our mobile enterprise customers," said Robert Gadd, President of OnPoint Digital. "Now smartphone users can receive, review and request current sales and product updates, training materials and business procedures in the same familiar format they use on their desktop computers every day. Best of all, new content can be created by anyone who knows PowerPoint and then deployed out to virtually any mainstream smartphone without worrying about screen sizes, font choices, and delivery methods."
