Line Communications links with Ten Alps Events

LINE Communications Group has announced a joint marketing initiative with Ten Alps Events, a division of Ten Alps Communications plc - the AIM-listed media production and corporate brand management company co-founded by Sir Bob Geldof.

LINE will provide interactive media consultancy and development as part of Ten Alps' service to its blue-chip clients. Meanwhile, Ten Alps Events will provide live event and broadcast capabilities as part of LINE's service to its own clients. In both cases the services will be optional add-ins for clients.

Between Ten Alps Events and LINE in the last year, blue-chip companies served include Volvo, PricewaterhouseCoopers, BT, Corus, RMC, EMI, NCR, the Office of National Statistics, BBC and , BP.

The wider Ten Alps Communications group has around 60 further clients in advertising and media production, including Microsoft, Channel 4, O2, Discovery Networks Europe and MTV Europe.

"We believe that because of the strength of our combined client base, this represents a significant opportunity," said LINE Chairman Ian Philion.

"Companies are increasingly looking for a one-stop solution through which they can directly reach the precise audience they are targeting. They can invite the audience to an offline event such as a sales conference which Ten Alps might produce. Or they can put in place online activities such as a conference programme hosted on wireless handheld devices, which is LINE's expertise. Why not put it all together?"

Ten Alps Communications Chief Executive Alex Connock said: "Most corporate events aim to transmit 'takeaway' information to the audience. But we find people sometimes resent carrying around heavy and quite naff plastic conference bags. Equally once out of the conference there is no guarantee that delegates will even refer to the material."

"So one of the key tools before, during and after events is the online or e-learning delivery of key messages. That's one reason why LINE and Ten Alps will work so well together."

The agreement between Ten Alps and LINE is to explore for one year on a non-exclusive basis opportunities to cross-sell services between the two companies' clients.

Sir Bob Geldof commented: "This is a great piece of the jigsaw in our offer of bringing brands to life. Now we have an even wider communication network to help clients deliver their messages"
