Aurion, in partnership with TIDES training, recently won the contract to design and deliver a training solution to support the NI Civil Service in raising Diversity Awareness to a broad range of staff across 11 Departments.

The project will involve both classroom based training and will also be capable of being delivered in an online environment so that all staff across the civil service can access the training materials.

Aurion and TIDES provide a unique partnership, in which TIDES will take the lead on curriculum design and classroom based delivery whilst Aurion will design a comprehensive and engaging eLearning programme.

Following consultation with the NICS team, the final design will bring forward a highly interactive programme that encapsulates these 3 core themes:

  • benefits of diversity in NICS and society to enhance learning and creativity
  • cost of intolerance and avoidance
  • how to challenge inappropriate behaviour

Aurion are currently developing a core 3-hour eLearning Module, which will be highly interactive and scenario role-play based, focusing on typical scenarios within the Northern Ireland Civil Service working environment. This eLearning Module will then be able to be used in a variety of ways to provide flexibility in training delivery and learning.

The Core Content will be organised into key sections that will allow flexible delivery to different learner groups such as:

  • Induction Training for new hires
  • Supervisory/Junior Management
  • Other Staff Groups as required

The TIDES and Aurion team have an already established partnership and are currently exploring the opportunities to work on similar educational projects in the future.
