| Blackboard Inc. announced the launch of its new client support site, Behind the Blackboard. Blackboard invested over two thousand hours of work into redeveloping this site to provide greater resources for its client community. The new site features a variety of tools so that members of the academic community can better manage their mission critical Blackboard(R) solutions.
The Behind the Blackboard site, first launched in 2002, is a web-based client extranet where Blackboard clients and strategic partners can access up-to-the-minute resources and information about Blackboard products and services. It is a central hub for submitting questions, reporting problems and tracking their resolutions. The new Behind the Blackboard client support site offers many new features to enhance this process, including:
-- A Static Navigation Toolbar so visitors can get around the site
quickly and easily;
-- "My Bookmarks" allowing users to book mark pages they want to revisit
within the site;
-- "Your Last 10 Pages" so users can see the last ten actions/tasks they
logged;
-- "Advanced Case Management" for finding support tickets by status,
date, and keyword;
-- A Comprehensive Reference Center including a title search for
documentation;
-- Software Download Center to quickly and easily get the latest software
updates;
-- Support Bulletins and RSS feeds for documentation updates, case
communications and the product news;
-- Role-based Pre-login Pages full of support-related content so
students, faculty and administrators can access information about
Blackboard.
"Blackboard support is now only a single click away. Because of the centralized nature of the Behind the Blackboard site, I am able to locate product support bulletins, product downloads, and perform trouble ticket tracking in an easy and efficient manner," said Brian Morgan, assistant professor of Integrated Science and Technology at Marshall University. "This concept should be modeled by every single software company to ensure their clients feel comfortable with their support commitment in the way that I do about Blackboard's support."
"We are very pleased to unveil the new Behind the Blackboard site," said Michael Chasen, Blackboard president and CEO. "Many teams across Blackboard including marketing, IT and client support departments worked very closely with our clients to create this new site, making sure that is has the tools and features our clients want and need. This demonstrates another way in which we continue to invest in the client community to deliver greater innovation and service."
