UKS in cooperation with its technology partner Giunti Labs will be showcasing its ‘localized’ version of Giunti Labs’ learn eXact Suite at this year’s Online Educa Berlin 2007 conference and exhibition, to be held in Berlin, Germany on November 28-30, 2007.

“UKS decided to localize the learn eXact LCMS software for the Middle East region in the wake of increasing awareness of the need for a powerful learning content management system and digital repository to store, manage and retrieve learning objects,” said Ayman Al Kurdi, Technical Services Manager at UKS.

More importantly, using UKS’s Arabic user interface, learners and tutors can view all the features and tools in the learn eXact Learning, Community and Content systems, from right to left - according to the orientation of the Arabic written language, in addition, users and administrators can choose the Arabic Language Pack so that they can work in their preferred language.

“UKS’s IT team will ensure that Giunti Labs’ advanced LCMS will be seamlessly implemented and integrated into an institution’s existing infrastructure,” Ayman Al Kurdi added.

Fabrizio Cardinali, Giunti Labs’ CEO, commented: “We’re expanding our presence in the Middle East with UKS - and, this year, have made several important client acquisitions in that market such as Al Ahliyya Amman University (AAU) in Jordan and King Fahd University for Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia .”

In addition to exhibiting at Online Educa, UKS's Higher Education Division Manager, Carlos Garcia, will be presenting a paper titled: ‘Full Scale Implementation of a Blended Educational Model at Al Ahliyya Amman University’, at the accompanying conference. The paper sets out to highlight the steps necessary for the successful adoption and implementation of a blended model of education in a university environment.

“As we help our university customers to adopt new educational technologies and incorporate them into their existing teaching infrastructure, we find that content repositories and modern content development environments are key to the successful implementation of new educational models,” Carlos Garcia said.
