| CERTPOINT Systems announced that global engineering company John Crane has signed a new worldwide contract for its CERTPOINT VLS™ learning platform. The agreement extends the existing three-year relationship between the two companies and enables John Crane to offer access to Know-How, the company’s e-learning portal powered by CERTPOINT VLS™, to more employees. John Crane has 6,600 employees in 53 countries, and Know-How is being rolled out to support the adoption of e-learning on a country-by-country basis.
John Crane originally licensed CERTPOINT VLS™ in 2006, after a six-month evaluation of major e-learning providers. It was selected as a highly configurable, out-of-the box solution to support the company’s e-learning strategy, with an initial rollout in India and China to accelerate the pace of knowledge transfer in these markets. John Crane’s UK-based e-learning team was able to deploy CERTPOINT VLS™ with ease, re-branding the solution as Know-How. The rollout continued into other countries, facilitated by nominated Local Administrators who act as champions to promote the system and provide first level support in their territories.
In 2008, John Crane’s operations in EAA (Europe Asia Africa) and the Americas, including employee training and development, were brought together under a single global management and organisational structure. This provided the opportunity for the company to roll-out the e-learning portal Know-How as the common system for internal learning worldwide, covered by a single umbrella CERTPOINT contract.
