The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) announced that it has appointed Aurion Learning to develop and expand its portfolio of e-learning courses. lnitially Aurion will be working on a new Level 1 Food Safety Awareness e-learning qualification, which will be launched in April 2010.

Commenting on the new partnership, CIEH Director of Business Development said, 'This exciting new partnership combines the CIEH's expertise in food safety and hygiene with Aurion's knowledge of learning technologies. We are looking forward to introducing a flexible and cost-effective way for businesses to approach their 'compliance training' needs.

The challenge for us was to create an effective learning tool that meets our customer's business needs while embedding the importance of good food hygiene practice in a fun and engaging environment.'

The new Level 1 Food Safety Awareness e-learning course will be made available through the network of CIEH registered training centres. The course is equivalent to three industry specific qualifications: Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness in Catering; Level 1 Award in Induction into Food Safety for Manufacturing and Level 1 Award in Food Safety Awareness for Retail. It will be particularly suitable for those preparing to enter the workplace for the first time and can be used as part of an induction programme in food hygiene.

Ross Maguire, Sales and Marketing Manager at Aurion Learning said, 'We are already working with the CIEH to supply them with Net Dimension's Enterprise Knowledge learning management Platform (EKP). We believe NET Dimensions has one of the best learning management systems in the marketplace and we are using it to help the CIEH deliver their accredited e-learning programmes across their network of training centres.

We are delighted that CIEH is now giving us a chance to design e-learning programmes for them. We believe that our Level 1 Food Safety Awareness course stands out from competition because it uses high levels of interactivity and games with very high quality images and films.'
