| VEGA Group PLC is developing a new web-based Traffic Collision and Avoidance System (TCAS II) Version 7 program for Japan Airlines (JAL).
The program offers a total TCAS training solution and covers knowledge acquisition and testing, as well as practical ‘hands on’ manoeuvring simulation scenarios. The program also features a dual language capability.
VEGA’s Windows© based TCAS II Version 7 program, which will be formally released in April of this year, has been developed in browser format to interface with JAL’s Lotus Learning Space 5 Learning Management System (LMS) and allows the program to be launched from any Web Based LMS. The program has been developed in accordance with AICC AGR-010 (Web-based CMI Systems) HACP data requirements and will fully comply with FAA AC120-55A guidelines.
The program can be configured for a wide range of aircraft types. JAL’s version of the program will feature 13 manoeuvring simulation scenarios to support realistic training of its comprehensive aircraft fleet. The manoeuvring simulation scenarios have already been delivered to JAL and are now in active service.
Mr. Toshitake Kawashima, Senior Director Ground Training Office Flight Crew Training commented: "We required a TCAS training solution that was perfectly aligned to our own specific training objectives, both technically and operationally.
“We were already confident in VEGA as a reputable training provider and certainly during our negotiations VEGA demonstrated flexibility in their approach by working with us to create an innovative and practical solution. The results speak for themselves, we are already training with the manoeuvring simulations which were delivered by VEGA in eleven weeks.”
In addition, Martin Blomley, Director of VEGA Group PLC commented: “I am extremely delighted to welcome Japan Airlines as a new client for VEGA. From VEGA’s perspective our agreement with Japan Airlines is particularly significant.
