| Pathlore, the most widely adopted Learning Management System (LMS) provider in the marketplace, has announced that Delta Air Lines has begun using Pathlore LMS to plan, deliver and manage training programmes after just six weeks of implementation time.
The initial phase of Delta’s programme includes the use of Pathlore LMS’s registration, scheduling and tracking features to facilitate an enterprise-wide course on business literacy in May. This instructor-led simulation workshop will enhance the business acumen of Delta employees by detailing the company’s business processes and the ways in which employees can make an impact on the company’s future success.
Delta also will use Pathlore LMS to deploy blended-learning programmes consisting of online and instructor-led courses. Future training initiatives include skills management, corporate compliance courseware, a content repository and a variety of professional development opportunities.
Pathlore is hosting the LMS, providing Delta with the advantages of rapid implementation, flexible scalability and expert day-to-day management. Off-loading the LMS infrastructure management to Pathlore, with the option to move it in-house later, enables Delta to focus its attention on further developing the content and strategy of its e-learning programme. In addition, Delta will begin migrating long-standing legacy learning tools to a web-based environment via Pathlore LMS.
“Pathlore LMS supports our decentralised training environment, which enables pilots, airport customer service staff, ticket agents and other employee groups to receive specialised training unique to their job responsibilities,” said Bill Kline, chief learning officer at Delta Air Lines. “With its scalability, flexibility and quick installation time, Pathlore LMS was the best selection, and we expect the rollout to generate enthusiasm from all involved.”
Delta chose Pathlore after an extensive evaluation of LMS providers. In addition to the fact that Pathlore exceeded a number of requirements outlined in the Delta RFP, Delta cited Pathlore LMS’s scalability, enterprise-wide training capabilities, tracking, self-service registration and automation features as key factors in the selection.
“While the airline industry has faced challenges over the past year, the commitment Delta has shown to employee training and development reflects its dedication to providing customers with the highest level of safety, security and satisfaction,” said Steve Thomas, president and CEO of Pathlore. “In today’s competitive environment, the more quickly and efficiently a company can deliver e-learning to employees, the better. Delta came to Pathlore with aggressive goals, including implementation in six weeks, which was achieved through the joint efforts of both teams.”
