Edvantage development tool for the Defence Learning Portal

BT Global Services has selected Edvantage's CourseBuilder content development tool and e-learning services for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD). This agreement is expected to significantly increase the ease and speed with which content developers and subject matter experts at the Defence Learning Portal can create high-quality e-learning experiences for up to 320,000 military and civilian personnel.

As part of the initial twelve month agreement, sixty-five content developers will use CourseBuilder to create rich, interactive courses and training materials and. Edvantage group will also provide a range of services including training, customisation, consulting, and support. Seamless interoperability between CourseBuilder and the Defence Learning Portal will enable  courses and training materials to be distributed to learners around the world.

The Defence Learning Portal has content development tools already, but was looking to offer  more variety and cost effectiveness in  collaborating online, managing the development process and keeping training materials updated. "The procurement process attracted widespread interest from a broad range of highly respected vendors in the e-learning industry," says, Mark Peart, BT Global Services. "We chose Edvantage group because of their powerful authoring tool, their e-learning expertise and the value-added services. CourseBuilder impressed us, with its ease of use, extensive feature set, and web-based collaboration features - and it met  rigorous requirements for security."

With this agreement, MOD joins national defence organisations in two other countries as customers to Edvantage group.
