LINE Communications continued to expand its portfolio of software tools that enable fast development and distribution of blended and e-learning.

Technical design innovation has always been one of LINE’s core strengths and, in support of the continued expansion of the business, LINE now has a range of tools which greatly enhance the service it can provide to both its UK and mainland European customers.

One of the key services LINE provides is a Localisation Tool which supports the effective translation of multimedia content into multiple languages - a key requirement for LINE’s growing base of multinational clients. Clients can also make use of LINE’s hosted Learning Management System (LMS Lite) which hosts SCORM conformant content in a customer-branded environment and can deployed in a matter of days. In addition to this, an online Survey Tool allows the easy creation of multi-question evaluation surveys, allowing the reviewer to receive the findings in a simple report format and help to focus training spend.

To compliment these offerings, LINE’s highly successful Online Review Tool allows clients to review learning content on a screen-by-screen basis and record comments and queries. The tool provides an audit trail of issues raised during the project lifecycle, with details of when they were resolved and signed off. This means that courses with multiple stakeholders can be reviewed and deployed at speed.

LINE has also developed a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) tool developed in conjunction with Capita L&D which maps a learner's developmental activity against the requirements of an awarding body - again a great way of focussing training spend to match individual and organisational requirements. In addition LINE has developed a Return on Investment (ROI) tool in conjunction with the ROI Academy (

Commenting on the increased uptake of these tools in the last quarter, Mark Underwood, Technical Director at LINE said, "This range of tools has been developed and proved over time and is now helping us to deliver high quality learning at an affordable price, as e-learning becomes an ever more strategic tool in our client base."
